The answer is Tamzin Merchant as she was originally cast as Daenerys Targaryen. Merchant is probably best known for her roles in ‘The Tudors’ and ‘Salem’. After the pilot episode did not go well, the producers gave the role to Emilia Clarke instead. It seems weird to think of any other actress playing the role but it almost happened.
2) Which of these main characters did not appear in Season 5?
The answer is Bran Stark, who did not appear in a single episode in season 5. This seems like a mistake by the showrunners after Bran ultimately ended up on the Iron Throne. Hindsight is 20/20 but I feel like they could have used him in some small way instead of cutting him out completely.
3) Which character was introduced first in the show, Margaery or Loras Tyrell?
The answer is Loras Tyrell, who was introduced in the very first season of the show. He took part in the Hand’s tournament and faced off against Ser Gregor Clegane. Margaery wasn’t introduced until the second season but ended up playing a big role in the series. Despite being introduced second, Margaery would subsequently appear in more episodes than Loras (26 to 21).

Tyrion Lannister was the character that was featured in the most episodes of the series. Tyrion appeared in 67 out of a possible 73 episodes. Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and Cersei Lannister all finished in second (they appeared in 62 total episodes). With this in mind, you could definitely argue that Tyrion was the important character of the entire series. While saying that, you could also make the same case for Jon, Daenerys, and Cersei.
